Ranveer Singh may have bagged a role that was earmarked for Ranbir Kapoor in Zoya Akhtar’s next film, according to sources in Bollywood. The movie is said to be about a brother-sister relationship, with an autobiographical touch for Zoya and actor-producer brother Farhan Akhtar. The film is written by Zoya with Reema Kagti.

Ranbir and Kareena Kapoor, real-life cousins, were set to do the roles, and the latter was excited as she has always wanted to work with Ranbir, which was not possible in a romantic team-up. However, Ranbir is too committed to Anurag Kashyap’s “Bombay Velvet” and a film that Karan Johar will be directing, apart from his proposed biopic of Kishore Kumar by Anurag Basu and a film that Kashyap is producing. The script is ready, and Zoya is neither in the mood to wait for the combined dates of the two top stars nor does she plan on abandoning the project.
