Film maker Ram Gopal Verma has unveiled the first look of his upcoming movie ‘Satya 2’. This movie is sequel to the 1998 released movie ‘Satya’. This movie is based on the concept that underworld will exist despite of Mumbai police eradicating it several times. Till there is greed for money and power, underworld will exist in some or the other form. Director Ram Gopal Varma said, “Satya 2was a man who came in 1998, got into the underworld and died... ‘Satya 2’ is about a man who comes in 2013 to reinvent the underworld.” He further added, “To that extent I would say this is a futuristic film not in terms of science fiction but in terms of that there`s no precedent for the protagonist of ‘Satya 2’. He starts a new underworld company based on his study of the mistakes of all the earlier dons and also on the ways he develops to deal with the modern day policing methods.” He said if he had to sum up story of his upcoming movie in once sentence, it would be, “So in one line ‘Satya 2’ is about a man whose thinking starts where the earlier Dons thinking ended.”

Ram Gopal verma earlier directed ‘Company’ and ‘D’ which were considered sequel to ‘Satya’. But this movie ‘Satya 2’ is the official sequel of the former movie. “Even though ‘Satya’ had 2 sequels ‘Company’ and ‘D’, ‘Satya 2’ is will be satya's sequel" said Ram Gopal Varma in an interview. In 2011 only he had announced the sequel of ‘Satya’. A source close to the industry told that Ram Gopal Varma was going through a rough patch and he faced a lot of problems marketing his movies after hit movie ‘Satya’. “Satya is a brand. The original film managed to outshine everything else that came out at the same time because of its impeccable script, the flawless direction and power packed performances”, said the source. An industry onlooker clarified the long lead time for this upcoming movie, as it was announced in 2011 only. “But this time round, things seem to have changed… the backing of a strong production house would help them market the film really well. Unfortunately, Ram Gopal Varma is facing a rough patch and that seems to have affected the business prospects of Satya 2 as well”, he said. There is going to be a new lead actor for ‘Satya 2’ for the Hindi version. This movie is also shot in Telugu with the title remaining same. Telugu actor Sharwanand and Anaika Soti will appear in the Telugu version of this movie.
