Madhuri Dixit and her family organized a prayer meet at Iskcon Temple in Juhu, Mumbai, on Monday for the actress's father, Shankar Dixit who passed away last week in his sleep at the age of 91. Several celebrities from B-Town attended the event. An emotional Madhuri later tweeted to convey her thanks to her colleagues for the support they showed. " Thank u for standing by me and giving support. Our family is coming to terms with the loss. His memory lives on in our hearts ( sic)," she wrote on her social networking page.
Rani Mukerji made a few heads turn when she arrived with Pamela Chopra, mother of her rumoured boyfriend producer Aditya Chopra. Other actresses spotted at the meet included Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol, Juhi Chawla, Sonali Bendre, Huma Qureshi, Poonam Dhillon, Gayatri Joshi, Aarti Chhabria and Asha Parekh. Jackie Shroff, Indra Kumar, Boney Kapoor and Sooraj Barjatya were there too, to pray for the departed soul. Madhuri's husband Sriram Nene and their sons, Arin and Ryan, attended the guests. The actress was shooting for her TV show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa when the news of her father's demise reached her. She had immediately rushed home to be with her family.
