Being promoted as a film based on Islamic principles, Ya Rab is slated to release on February 7. However, The All-India Milli Council's Maharashtra unit has expressed their objection over the release of the film. A delegation of this council involving Congress MLA Amin Patel, former legislator Yusuf Abrahni and the general secretary of the council M A Khalid submitted a memorandum demanding a ban of the film to the Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. Khalid who has seen the film believes that certain scenes may hurt religious sentiments and might affect the law and order of the country and hence has called for a ban of the film.
