Action hero Akshay Kumar, who is in the midst of promoting his Indo-Canadian film Speedy Singh (aka Breakaway), announced the third edition of his karate tournament to be held on October 19-22.

"For all karate enthusiasts, I'm back with my yearly karate tournament, bigger and better than ever before from 19th to 22nd Oct, 2011," Kumar tweeted. Akshay Kumar International Invitational Karate-do Championship 2011 will be held at Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai.

Kumar, a black belt in taekwondo, launched the event in 2009 and also plans to open a martial arts school in Mumbai. The 44-year-old has also started learning traditional combat karate for his role in upcoming film Rowdy Rathore, directed by Prabhudeva.
