Arjun Rampal- still a long way to goOne of the leading fashion icons of the ongoing decade; Arjun Rampal will complete the fortieth years of his life tomorrow on 26thNovember. Prior to making his advent into the glitzy arena of Bollywood; the stylish Rampal happened to be an integral part of the modeling world.

Hailing from a North Indian family; Arjun was born to parents Amarjeet & Gwen Rampal in the year of 1972. Having completed schooling from an international school located in Tamil Nadu; Arjun earned his Bachelor’s degree from the acclaimed Hindu College of Delhi. It was during his stint in the capital city; that Arjun’s focus upon the realm of modeling was spearheaded by the illustrious designer Rohit Bal.

It did not take him long for Arjun with his striking good looks, refined demeanor and exuberant physique to catapult internationally.   Having endorsed Tommy Hilfiger; Arjun was seen participating in headline grabbing commercials alongside of Hollywood bigwig Nicole Kidman.

With firm and focused inclination on celluloid; the sleek and smart models resorted to giving a professional shape to his acting acumen. He even took the help of acting classes to gear him up professionally. His first break in the tinsel town of Mumbai came in the form of ‘Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat’. Though ‘Moksha’ should have launched the model’s entry into the domain of stardom; the latter directed by Rajiv Rai was released previously. Both Moksha- an unusual entertainer and Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat – a commercial entertainer failed to create long lasting impression. But his introductory year to filmdom paid off with the versatile fashion model cum actor winning the coveted prize of the most gifted newcomer.

Arjun’s journey through the glitz of Bollywood proved fairly successful in the year of 2002. While ‘Aankhen’ brought into fore his range and dimension of acting; ‘Dil Hai Tumhara’ received moderate response on account of its attractive musical score and powerful performance put up by Mahima Chowdhury & Preity Zinta other than Arjun Rampal. The following year saw Arjun Sharing screen space with the glamorous Aishwarya Rai for the flick ‘Dil Ka Rishta’. Failing to create substantial impact; the actor had a poor run with commercial entertainers such as ‘Asambhab’ & ‘Tahzeeb’.

Despite going through a potentially low phase; Arjun did not lose heart. He even tried his hand at film production as an attempt to create a significant impact. By means of ‘Don’ made by Farhan Akhtar; Arjun could pose a profitable comeback. ‘Kabhi Albida Na Kehena’ of Karan Johar also highlighted the fashion model in its supporting cast.  Before winning accolades for ‘Rock On’; Arjun found himself a place in an offbeat entertainer directed by the legendary director from Bengal. The artistic creation’ The Last Lear’ included Rampal in its star cast alongside of Preity Zinta & the phenomenal Big B.

Having won commendable reviews by means of his performance in ‘Rock On’; Rampal’s acting acumen was also lauded for flicks such as ‘Rajneeti’, ‘Om shanty Om’ and ‘ Ra one’. With ‘Rock On’ paving way for a series of critical acclaims and positive reviews; the film proved to be a boon for the celebrated model. Assisting the struggling actor to strike a solid base in the realm of Bollywood; the film undoubtedly epitomizes the actor cum model’s soul stirring vibrancy and power of delineation. As he embarks upon his forty first year; it is expected that the fashionable entertainer continues to hold his sway in B Town.
