Anubhav on roping in Madhuri: Surprising people isn't new

A film set in the heartland of India, GULAB GANG would feature Madhuri Dixit as the central protagonist in the role of a gangster. While the film would be set in a gritty terrain, ironically the decision to approach Madhuri was taken on one serene evening on the 'ghats' of Banaras.

Smiles Anubhav Sinha, the film's producer, "I was with Soumik Sen in Banaras to write another film and we were on this boat in Ganges. It was a beautiful atmosphere and he started telling me a story he had written. I really loved it and felt that it was fantastic. When he expressed his desire to direct it, I was all for it and supported his thought. On my return to Mumbai, I met up Madhuri and things started working out really fast."

Well, this indeed seems like a cakewalk. Guess he is enjoying all the luck as he is fast turning out to be one of the most unusual suspects when it comes to striking film deals with superstars. After all, it was Shahrukh Khan earlier for RA. ONE and now it is none less than Madhuri Dixit who has been ultra choosy about her assignments.

"See, I just want to do work and would rather want to believe that people out there don't get a heart burn about me getting the best in business," says Anubhav who started his career as a director with an unassuming small film TUM BIN, "I remember how some people were surprised when news broke around I and Shahrukh working together on RA. ONE. In fact someone even exclaimed that how could I even get into 'Mannat'. I am not new to people getting surprised though. If Madhuri consenting to work with me has surprised people again, then all I can do is smile and move on."
