Heroine trailer gets A-certificate from censorsOver the years, Madhur Bhandarkar has carved a niche for himself as a director — he focuses on an industry (more often than not, related to the glamour world) in an attempt to lay bare its darker, lesser-known aspects. From Page 3 (2005) to Corporate (2006) to Fashion (2008), his films have been as
direct and hard-hitting as their titles.

His new project, Heroine, aims to focus on the life of an actor beyond the external layers of glamour. And the first trailer of the film has been given an A-rating by the Censor Board. Madhur, who has almost wrapped up shooting the film, is hardly surprised. “As expected got a “A” certificate from the censor board. Countdown begins for the launch of the poster and promo of Heroine (sic),” the director posted on Twitter. Previously, Fashion too released with an ‘A’ rating.

The certificate limits the choice of films along with which the theatrical trailer can be released. A source close to the director, however, says that Madhur isn’t bothered by the fact: “It’s too early to decide. There are a couple of big films that are supposed to come before it (Heroine). If the trailer doesn’t work with either, then he will think of alternatives.”

Is Madhur likely to edit the trailer to get a U/A certificate, which will then make it easier to release it in theatres and on television? “Everyone knows what the film is about, so I don’t think he will rework the trailer. There is still time to think about what to do before releasing it on TV,” says the source. Kareena Kapoor plays the title role in Madhur’s film, which also stars actors Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda.
