The film, as you must know by now, is being directed by Ranbir Kapoor’s good friend Ayan Mukherjee and stars Deepika Padukone opposite him. No wonder she was spotted in the motley bunch of the cast and crew posing for this photograph on Ranby’s B’Day on Friday. However, she kept her distance.

In between Deepika and Ranbir in the picture is the director Ayan Mukherjee himself. To Ranbir Kapoor’s left is seen Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar’s mom. Further to his left is mom Neetu Singh, which might explain the reason why Deepika didn’t stand next to Ranbir.

Deepika and Ranbir’s mom reportedly never got along well during the days the two actors dated each other. But that now is a thing of the past. It’s nice to see that Deeps and Ranby haven’t let their break-up affect their professional relationship. But given that Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani is a romantic film, a bit of passion might be rekindled.
