It’s been a couple of years since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen on the big screen opposite Hrithik Roshan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Guzaarish' in 2010. A break due to pregnancy and her maternal instinct taking a forefront, but now there's restlessness among fans and Bollywood fraternity to see this actress back in action.

Bollywood's biggest comeback film, Karan Johar in lead for Aishwarya Rai's 'Mommy Returns'

Recently, she confessed that she has finally started reading scripts, which essentially marks the first phase of her much-awaited comeback. However, months before Ash's candid confession, speculation was rife in the media on which director Ash would choose to orchestrate her second innings in Bollywood.

The list has been pretty long as in any other kind of speculation concerning her. And now the latest personality to join this list of who's who is Karan Johar. Karan, if the speculative pieces in the media are to be believed, wants to remake director Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1982 classic film 'Bemisaal'. The film had Ash's father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhi and Vinod Mehra as its lead actors.

Karan, as the rumours go, is allegedly thinking about casting Aishwarya to play Rakhi's character from the original edition. 'Bemisaal' was a story of loyalty, sacrifice and revenge. It is unclear if Karan will merely produce the film or don his director's hat. However, he has been thinking about remaking the '80s hit at some point. More so, after his remake of 'Agneepath' with Hrithik Roshan set the box-office ringing.

Aishwarya is one actress who was never been out of news even without doing a single movie for the past two years. Her pregnancy has given her more publicity than any movie she has done so far. Meanwhile, the actress has been concentrating on motherhood and giving full attention to her daughter Aaradhya.

It has not been an easy ride for Aishwarya, who has faced backlash for her weight gain post-pregnancy. Regardless of all the negativity publicity surrounding her, Aishwarya seems set to strike back.

She confessed that it is difficult to tear herself away from home and her baby who will turn one on November 16. Even though Aishwarya’s priorities have changed in the last year, 'Bemisaal' might herald the return of the former Miss World to the big screen.

At the time of publication of this article, Emirates 24|7 was still awaiting Aishwarya's confirmation/ comment on whether 'Bemisaal' is one of the scripts that she has been reading. However, she remained unavailable for comment.
