Tanvi Shah is a popular playback singer for films in India. She is the first Indian woman to win the Grammy Awards for the lyrics of "jai ho". She has a versatile voice and can sing in Arabic, Latin, Spanish and sings a wide range of music with her band, Zahrra. Her first song was "Fanaa" for the movie "Yuva".

She has a running collaboration with AR Rahman and has sung a number of songs for him, including songs from Jillunu Oru Kadhal, Slumdog Millionaire and recently Delhi 6. She wrote the Spanish lyrics for Jai Ho.

She has performed in leading and world famous arenas such as Wembley Arena Wembley UK, Birmingham Arena Burmingham. Her success with AR Rahman got her invitations from leading music directors and she has sung for Yuvan Shankar Raja, Srikanth Deva, Premji Amaren and other music directors.

Music Maestro A R Rahman shared the Grammy Awards for the best motion picture song "Jai ho" with veteran lyricist Gulzar and Tanvi Shah who wrote the Spanish lyrics for it. With the success of Slumdog Millionaire, Shah has been featured in Snoop Dogg's song "Snoop Dogg Millionaire". Apart from the Grammy , she also received the BMI Award in 2009 in London for the same and also shares the World Soundtrack Award (2009) with the Music Maestro and Gulzar Saab. She performed for the Yuvan - Live in Concert in January 2011 in Chennai. Tanvi loves the outdoors and likes walking ad running among other sports.
