This a story of a guy named Mehboob (Sanjeev Kumar) who is a ladies tailor of the film industry's heroines. He leaves Mumbai and comes at his birth place. There he opens a shop of ladies tailor with the help of his friend Nawab Samil (Pran) but as he is young all the ladies and their husbands are not comfortable to give measurements of their body. So Mehboob turns into old man and plays double role, one role of young Mehboob and the other his elder brother who is elder one he is called at the palace of Amro (Reena Roy) who is elder sister of Nikhat (Reena Roy, double role) for stitching clothes. He falls in love with Nikhat and plays lot of pranks on her. He also catches the thief Amjad (Amjad Khan) who is cheating Amra.
