Varun Dhawan is an Indian film actor who will be making his debut in the 2012 film by Karan Johar, Student of the Year. He is the son of director David Dhawan and is the brother of director Rohit Dhawan.

Before starting off as an actor, Dhawan was an assistant director to his father, David Dhawan. He also assisted Karan Johar in his 2010 film, My Name is Khan.

Dhawan will be making his acting debut in the 2012 film, Student of the Year. The film is expected to be released on October 19, 2012 and is currently in post production stages.
