Shah Rukh Khan 'absent from Twitter for 100 days'

Shah Rukh Khan has been absent from social networking site Twitter for 100 days. Fans of the Bollywood star have now initiated a campaign to persuade the actor to return through the hashtag  #100DaysWithoutSRK. Khan's last tweet on January 9 expressed his growing frustration with the site: "Sad, I read so much judgements, jingoism, religious intolerance on the net & I used to think this platform will change narrowmindedness, but no!"

Reports have suggested that Khan may reactivate his account in June following the culmination of the IPL cricket tournament, which will coincide with the start of the marketing campaign for Chennai Express. Khan has amassed over 3.9 million followers since joining Twitter in January 2010. He posted 4,860 tweets in the three years that the account was actively used. SRK's next film Chennai Express is scheduled to release August 8.
