Even as the police is planning to seek legal opinion about the Ram Charan Teja-techie assault case, A Phanish, the 33-year-old victim who was thrashed by the actor's bodyguards last Sunday, said the claims of the actor that their Alto car had brushed against his Aston Martin were absolutely false. The software professional also stated that he did not apologise to Ram Charan and had not even spoken to him, as claimed by the actor while talking to a news agency in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Talking to TOI, Phanish said that after the assault, he initially wanted to lodge a complaint and approached the police but changed his mind due to family pressure. "After I reached the police station, I received a call from my family members. My parents had seen the details of the assault on news channels and they called on my phone. When I informed them that I was at the police station, they asked me not to lodge any complaint and return home immediately. They were naturally worried about my safety as the other group comprises very influential persons," Phanish said.

An employee of a software firm in Banjara Hills, Phanish also said that neither Ram Charan Teja nor his father, Union minister Chiranjeevi, spoke to him after the incident. "Neither Ram Charan nor anyone from his side spoke to me. The statement of the actor reveals how powerful they are and people like us who survive on small salaries can never take them on, even legally," he said. The techie also confirmed that police did give him any advice on not lodging any complaint. "The Banjara Hills police told me they will proceed as per my complaint and did not force me into not lodging a case. After talking to my family members, I decided not to lodge a complaint and gave it in writing to the police," Phanish said.

Talking to a news agency in Mumbai, Ram Charan Teja said that the Alto car in which the two software professionals were travelling, had brushed against his Aston Martin and the techies had apologised to him and given it in writing to the police. However, Banjara Hills inspector P Murali Krishna said Phanish had not given them any letter expressing apology. The Banjara Hills police have made a general diary (GD) entry about the incident and as it was a non-cognizable offence, they are seeking legal opinion about registering a case.
