Aarakshan release banned by UP GovernmentPrakash Jha’s ‘Aarakshan’ is based on the sensitive issue of reservations. The film is releasing nationwide on the 12th August 2011. However, the Uttar Pradesh government has banned its release for two long months. The officials think that releasing the film might cause law and order chaos in the state.

The National Commission of schedule cast has an issue with the film that the backward class has been shown in a bad state and so the commission also requested Prakash Jha to hold a special pre-release screening of the film for them but Jha refused stating that only the censor board has the right to give a release certificate to the film. However, the officials insist that some dialogues and scenes are objectionable in the film and so the Mayawati Government has banned its release.
