Salman Khan, who was awaiting court’s verdict in the 2002 hit-and-run case, has been granted bail and the next hearing is on June 15. He is now expected to join the team of Kabir Khan’s directorial ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ in Kashmir soon. The shoot of the movie, scheduled to hit theaters in July, was underway when Salman had to fly down to Mumbai for the hearing of the hit-and-run case. Reports say that the actor is expected to fly off to Kashmir this weekend only. Once he wraps up this shoot, Salman Khan is scheduled to return to Mumbai for Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ opposite Sonam Kapoor. The movie will be shot in the outskirts of Mumbai.

Salman Khan will further be involved in the promotional activity of the movie ‘Hero’ in July. The movie star two newcomers – Aditya Pancholi’s son – Sooraj and Suniel Shetty’s daughter – Athiya. In a major relief to the Bollywood superstar, the Bombay High Court on Friday (May 8) suspended the five-year rigorous jail term handed to him by a sessions court earlier this week. Admitting Khan’s appeal against the conviction, the High Court also expedited the hearing of the case. The court issued the order a day before it goes on vacation. Khan was convicted on Wednesday on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the 2002 hit-and-run case in which one man died and four were injured. The men were sleeping on a pavement in suburban Bandra when Salman Khan’s Toyota Land Cruiser ran over them. The High Court also directed the actor, who did not appear in person, to surrender before the trial court forthwith and execute a bail bond of Rs 30,000 with one or two sureties of a like amount.
