No competition with Salman, says Kalki Kalki’s latest venture, ‘That Girl In Yellow Boots’, hit the silver screens on Friday, Sep. 2, just two days after the release of Salman’s much-awaited film ‘Bodyguard’. When no other stars wish to take a chance by releasing their film along with a Salman-starrer during Eid, Kalki and her hubby Anurag Kashyap, the maker of the film, showed much courage in releasing their film in the same week as of ‘Bodyguard’. Fielding a question about how they dared to clash with a Salman Khan movie, the babelicious babe said, “You are never going to compete with Salman Khan. His film is of a different league. What's important is there are no films of our kind releasing at this movement.

“You know there is a certain audience for independent cinema, mostly an urban audience. There are more and more films that come out which are of low budget, off-beat kind of cinema and there hasn’t been one around now. So, I think it’s actually a wise decision.”

I came into Hindi movies by chance—Kalki ‘That Girl In Yellow Boots’ protagonist Kalki Koechlin, who stepped into the industry with Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dev D’, in a recent candid conversation with CNBC-TV18, articulated that she came into Hindi movies by chance. The actress, who took acting lessons at Goldsmiths London, revealed that she had never planned a career in Bollywood, and it was sheer luck that she entered the industry.

When asked if she had taken acting lessons to step into Bollywood, Kalki said, “I didn’t do it in order to be in Hindi movies. I did it because I loved it and I wanted to do it. The fact that I came into Hindi movies is by chance.” Kalki: My character is stubborn and unsociable Talking about her character in her latest outing, TGIYB, lead actress Kalki stated that the character which she portrays in the movie is obstinate and unfriendly.

To get into the skin of her character, the hottie had even cut off herself from her social contacts for sometime so as to set a mood of loneliness. "It's a very intense film. My character is stubborn and unsociable. I stopped talking completely. I would wear headphones and listen to heavy metal and rock all day long during the shoot. It was tough because I am a very happy person,” Kalki told the daily. Helmed by Anurag Kashyap, TGIYB stars Kalki Koechlin and Naseeruddin Shah in lead roles.
