Andrew Symonds was clueless before entering Bigg Boss 5Andrew Symonds, as you read this, has entered the Bigg Boss House in Karjat, a month before the fifth season of the daily reality show closes. However, he says he hasn’t seen a single episode of the show since it went on air two months ago on Colors. “I chose to remain clueless about whatever was happening inside. I’m sure people are doing their best to grab eyeballs but I didn’t want to form any opinion before meeting them in person. Now that I am entering, I’ll interact with them and figure life out,” said Andrew, before  stepping into the House.

The former Australian all-rounder gained notoriety in India for an acrimonious spat with off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, now termed as the Monkeygate scandal. Harbhajan got away with a smaller fine after stating that Andrew apparently didn’t understand what was said because he can’t speak or understand Hindi. So, how does he intend to converse with the contestants, who are allowed to speak only in Hindi?

“I don’t know,” he laughs, unaware that a surprise has been planned for him in the form of a translator. "But speaking in Hindi will be a task because my knowledge of the language is incredibly poor.” Andrew, who plans to stick around in the House till it ends in the first week of January, says his family was extremely anxious to know what he was going to do on a show that is based on the popular Big Brother format “Ah, they’ve all wished me luck because my body clock, routines and even food habits will undergo a major change. I hope I come back, well, a winner.”

The former cricketer is also keen to catch the upcoming India-Australia series that will be played Down Under. “It’s going to be fun to watch a fairly enthusiastic Australian side, full of young blood, battle it out against the reigning world champions,” says Andrew, adding, “I’m not sure if I’ll stick around for the entire series. I have to come back to India to for the upcoming IPL series. Mumbai Indians have to better their performance from the previous season.”

Pooja’s back! When Andrew Symonds decided to enter the Bigg Boss House, one of the biggest challenges for him was to converse in Hindi. So Pooja Misra, the current season’s evicted contestant, will now step in as his translator. She will stay in the House as long as Andrew is there. It’s Pooja’s second chance to clear her tainted image.
