Abhishek explains the difference between Oscars & Indian AwardsKudos to Abhishek Bachchan who understood the difference between the awards given by the industry to the industry and by the media to the industry for TV coverage! Abhishek has replied to the media outrage on Oscars Awards ceremony where people from media suggested that B-town should improve and raise its standards.

He twitted, "Interesting to see-read a lot of the media is comparing the Oscars to our Indian awards. Most seem to think that we need to improve, raise our standards... Wait a minute... Aren't most of OUR awards run and held by media houses." Abhishek has even openly asked the concern persons to take the initiative in his tweet "Take the initiative, we shall follow," he added.

Well, said Abhishek we are with you... Indian Bollywood awards like Filmafare, Screen, Stardust, are all awards organized by media houses. The irony of Indian Film industry is - that the biggest recognition called Filmfare is run by Times. Screen Awards is an Indian Express venture and Stardust is publisher turned producer Nari Hira's venture...

The only award which some what qualifies as an industry award is Apsara which is organized by the Film and TV Producers Guild. Even this award doesn't provide umbrella to all the Trade and film bodies and associations of Indian Cinema; the way Academy of Motion Pictures does for Oscars.
