Arbaaz Khan might have taken over the charge of captaining the ‘Dabangg 2’ ship, but people seem to have little faith in his directorial abilities. The actor-producer was embroiled in a series of controversies ever since he cracked a hard whip on the crew of his 2010 blockbuster flick ‘Dabangg’.
Though most film producers dare not change the team that won several accolades, Arbaaz chose to act differently. He showed the exit door to director Abhinav Kashyap and many of his other technicians. He made people wonder by tampering with the success formula and has now said that he doesn’t know why people doubt his capabilities.
He also doesn’t appreciate being quizzed about his elder brother’s involvement in the direction of ‘Dabangg 2’. Talking to a daily, Arbaaz said, “I don`t know why people think I`m likely to falter as a director. Sure, I`ve gathered together a talented team. But at the end of the day, only I am the director of Dabangg 2. I am not a novice. I come from a family where my father (Salim Khan) is a reputed writer. I have 45 films to my credit as an actor. It`s not as if I am just walking into a set for the first time.”
However, Arbaaz doesn’t deny that he does seek Salman’s guidance. He said, “I agree Salman is extremely experienced and we`d be stupid not to take his advice. But on the sets, there is a very democratic atmosphere. Right from the spotboy to the actors, they are all welcome to make suggestions. I listen to every one but do exactly what I want to. It`d be stupid of me to sit rigidly with my ideas thinking there`s no other way of doing a shot.” Reportedly, elder brother Salman doesn’t want to steal the show from kid brother Arbaaz. Hence he is downplaying himself in the making of the film.
