Actor Emraan Hashmi is set to come in a different appearance from what he is best known for, serial kissing. In his next film Shanghai, Emraan becomes a porn filmmaker. At a press conference held to talk about Shanghai, filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee proudly boasted of Abhay Deol, who plays a Tamil IAS officer. Along with them, Emraan and Kalki Koechlin too grabbed eyeballs.

To a question that Shah Rukh Khan's Tamil character in Ra.One was not liked by the people of Tamil Nadu, Dibakar said Abhay might just surpass him with his latest act. Talking about his role in the film, Emraan said, "He (characters played by Emraan) used to kiss girls in the morning. Now he shoots porn films in the night after 12... That is quite a progression. It is actually graduation."

"He is a model coordinator. He is a small-town journalist and he shoots porn films. Yes that had to come... I was like... this is a very interesting character and Dibakar was like he shoots porn at night, I was like okay that sounds familiar," he said. Asked about a reported rift and Abhay and Emraan were prompt to exchange punches saying: "We absolutely hate each other."
