Emraan Hashmi is taking his star status quite seriously, and rightly so. One such step in this direction is to take on a role much bigger than being of just an actor and making his voice heard in other departments of filmmaking as well. This is what the team of Ek Thi Daayan is evidencing first hand as Emraan is keeping everyone on their toes even though he is shooting far away in Germany.

In Berlin, Emraan is thinking about his 'daayan'

"He is currently in Berlin shooting for his first international project with director Danis Tanovic (of No Man's Land fame). However he is not losing touch on what's happening in India around Ek Thi Daayan. He is keeping a close tab on the promotion plans, on the overall progress on the film and on the editing, which is currently in progress. It’s great to see an actor who is so involved and passionate," informs a source. Guess the trend which was once started by Aamir Khan has caught momentum with the current generation as well. This is why something like this, once perceived as interference, is now being hailed as strong commitment towards the project.

"Emraan knows where he stands today. There is a lot that is at stake and expectations are high when he features in a film. He does miss the fact that he isn't in India when the ball has started rolling for his forthcoming Ek Thi Daayan. However he is there for the film remotely and will even be flying down to Mumbai next month to wrap the patch work. He has also allotted a good number of dates for the film's promotional tours and other events," the source adds. For someone who is fast being looked at as Salman's successor when it comes to invading the interiors and the masses, Emraan intends to continue his hit run post the success of Raaz 3, The Dirty Picture and Murder 2. "Emraan is extremely driven and conscientious," says Tanuj Garg, CEO - Motion Pictures, Balaji. "He’s in the loop on everything that’s happening on Ek Thi Daayan, which is both welcome and heartening. It’s great to be working with talent who has such a strong sense of ownership of the work he does.
